Psychotherapy for children, teens and young adults

How We Help

We are clinicians with extensive experience working with young people to forge growth and healing. Specializing in children, teens, and young adults, we engage families, and potentially schools as key partners in supporting the young person.

What We Do

We blend cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), creative arts therapies, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), play therapy, and trauma-informed intervention to provide compassionate, affirming, child-centered care that meets the unique needs of young people. We choose to build internal resources so the young person can resiliently tackle today’s challenges and whatever challenges may lie ahead of tomorrow.

Why We Do It

Positive changes are always possible. It can feel hard to navigate your family’s path when so many changes are occurring in our world. Changes can at times cause disruptions in school and relationships. This can easily feel overwhelming.

We know that strengthening your mind muscles can help your whole body release discomfort, pain and achieve wellness. Therapy works. We help children and families devise practical solutions to make the most of every day.

Creative problem-solving can often help us illuminate new directions. Growing up in this ever-changing world means ongoing growth is needed on our part. And, sometimes, you need help to embark on that change.

When is Therapy Needed?

Therapy is not as scary or complicated as it may seem. Uncovering feelings and talking about our difficult experiences can unburden us so that more happiness can be experienced.

You are here now because you are worried about your child. You see social or emotional developmental milestones that are not being met or changes in your child that you are concerned about. They might appear unhappy, irritable, disinterested in things that made them joyful in the past. You observe recent phases of worry, hopelessness, or withdrawal. Or, other concerns have emerged. Changes might be noted in sleeping or eating habits, or how they express themselves verbally. Perhaps, something at school or home has changed. Or, they have experienced something burdensome.

Most young people go through mood changes and developmental crises. When you continue to be worried about your child for more than a few weeks or you are seeing a pattern of concerning behaviors, reach out. What is troubling you now? Let’s devise some practical solutions together.

We are committed to building young people stronger and more equipped to face life’s challenges.

We will help your child meet goals that will support them in school, family and the community.

We will help you with practical parenting skills.

Being a young person is hard. Being a parent is harder.

When you reach out, you will be in touch with our founder and Clinical Director, Marygrace Berberian, PhD, ATR-BC, LCAT, LCSW. Marygrace will listen to your concerns, answer your questions and ask some preliminary questions about your child and family. If your child is young, we will set some initial goals prior to meeting. If you child is older, it is helpful to meet together so trust is established from the beginning and goals are collaboratively set.

What comes next?
